It's almost time again! Last year's Goth Loli gathering at the Great Dickens Christmas Fair was my first ever. It was fun, but I thought perhaps more structure could make it even more enjoyable. Specifically, I was thinking...

• One person could be responsible for making reservations for tea at Cuthbert's Tea Shoppe.


• Photographers could be altered to our outing. I know a few who might be interested.


• Activities could be arranged, perhaps caroling.


• There could be a theme, such as Sugar Plum Visions or Gingerbread, to tie all our outfits together.

Of course people will want to do some of their own things, but I think that having a core program of events for an organized outing that people can drift into and out of might tie things together nicely. Any thoughts?

Did we ever have a candy cane latte? Because I swear we didn't, at least not since I've been there...though the time I did quit in 2006 was during Christmas, so unless we had one then, I don't think we did... I know Second Cup has had them though.

I just get really irritated when snotty customers act like they know it all about our drinks aka more than we actually do. The example today was someone asking a barista if we still had our candy cane latte, to which I replied we never had that, to which she replied, yeah, you did.

Just find people who think they know everything, and really don't, annoying.

On the other hand, if we ever did have a candy cane latte, that was from forever ago, than I will stand corrected.

So yeah my store has a set of stairs leading down to a downstairs seating area. We are always talking about how wouldn't it be awful if someone fell down them whilst doing a bus run...

So yeah, 15 minutes before I was due to clock out I missed my footing at the bottom and tumbled down the last few steps with a bus tray in my hand. Ended up on my knees with my right foot behind me somehow and I'm pretty sure a customer screamed- also I swore a lot I think- oops. Cue one trip to A&E (ER) with my off the clock SS (who is also one of my besties). A few hours and one xray later I apparently have overstretched a ligament in my ankle/foot. Which is why, on a Sunday, I am at home with my foot elevated instead of at work running around like a mad person on what is usually a pretty busy day for us.

I also dread going back into work next weekend and having to deal with those stairs again- getting about is proving quite difficult, stairs especially so, although I'd be fine on reg or B1 (if I had a good bar partner) or something- but our office is downstairs :(
I just hope that it's improved by then and maybe it won't be so bad.

Although I would just like to mention I didn't break ONE SINGLE CUP. Mad skillz yo.

So, we've had a comment box (empty traveler + stack of Post-Its) at my store for about a week now.

Tonight, two minutes before close, my shift decided to open it up and see what people had said about us so far. Mostly it was one regular writing that she loves us as a group and individually over and over and over and over, a few people had almost-genuine complaining-because-they-like-to-complain complaints, one person wrote nothing more than "you're cute," and . . .

. . . and someone wrote:
